Our Founder’s Story
Kristofer Buckle has always had a passion for makeup artistry. Even as a child, he loved experimenting with his mother’s makeup and watching YouTube tutorials to learn new techniques. By age 15, Kristofer started doing makeup for friends and family. He quickly realized he had a talent for accentuating people’s best features and making them look flawless.
After high school, Kristofer moved to Los Angeles to pursue his dream career as a professional makeup artist. He attended Joe Blasco Makeup Artist Training Centre and graduated at the top of his class. This intensive program provided Kristofer with comprehensive training on topics like color theory, facial anatomy, complexion analysis, and application techniques.
Fresh out of makeup school, Kristofer landed a job assisting on photo shoots for major fashion magazines like Vogue, Elle, and Marie Claire. For 5 years, he worked alongside celebrity makeup artists like Pat McGrath, learning industry secrets directly from the masters. Kristofer also started taking on his own clients, doing makeup for print ads, TV commercials, and red carpet events.
As Kristofer’s reputation grew, he was hired to work on Hollywood blockbusters including the X-Men films and Pirates of the Caribbean. He relished the chance to transform actors into fantastical characters through the power of makeup. Kristofer’s work has been featured in Rolling Stone, Cosmopolitan, and Esquire.
Although Kristofer loved his work in fashion, film, and celebrity makeup, he felt called to make quality cosmetics accessible to the everyday person. That dream became a reality in 2019 when Kristofer launched his own makeup line – Kristofer Buckle Cosmetics.
